Quick note: I have not been tagged, but seeing Ana’s post motivated me to write a post about something I enjoy – reading! It can be anything – any book I am passionate about at the moment or a psychology textbook, which is exactly what I am planning on pressing into my brain right after I finish this blog post : D, – it all counts as spending time processing the text. Here the questions and my answers to them. Please feel free to answer them in the comments or write a whole new blog post on them!
Bookmarks or a random piece of paper?
Bookmarks, mostly because I have them in such big number at home : )
Stop reading randomly or stop after a chapter/certain amount of pages?
I prefer to finish the chapter before stopping reading. But sometimes I am too exhausted to do so, and since I am reading in bed, I slowly start falling asleep which leads me to randomly stopping, though I try to find a moment which is not climatic : D
Certain place at home for reading?
My bed or the couch, but in that case, I would prefer no one to be home.
Eat or drink while reading?
Rarely do so. I could, but not if I am really enjoying my meal : )
Music or TV while reading?
This is a definite no. I cannot focus, especially if music that I like is playing. Though people’s voices do not affect me that much.
One time I actually had to read a book, a play, that has a movie filmed after it and it follows the script pretty closely. In that situation, I did not mind watching the movie while reading.
One book at a time or several?
One book at a time. The same with TV shows. It is simple: I do not just want to finish one thing first before starting another, but I also prefer not to mix up the events happening.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Would not say everywhere, but definitely not just at home. Sometimes, I get to read at school or at the library.
Reading out loud or silently?
Silently 99.9% of the time. Only if I am reading new material and cannot keep my mind to it, I will reread it out loud.
Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?
I do not think so, unless it is an extremely boring book which I would never choose to read personally (an assignment).
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
Breaking it. It is just how it is : ) To be honest, I do not think I can completely open the book without breaking the spine.
Do you write in your books?
Not anymore. I used to annotate and highlight, but only in books which I was assigned to read. I usually do not annotate, but if I do, I use sticky-notes.
Here you go! I tag:
- B. from the Life Through Eyes with Glasses – come back, I miss you girl ; )
- Bella from Totally Random
- Ivy and Em from two girls, to mountains – getting back to reading your blog : )
And also everyone else who, just like I did, decided to participate in this tag!
I recently decided to make my Goodreads account public so you can go check it out if you would like to!
Thank you so much for reading this post! ♡
